A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent addresses under the exact same domain. For instance, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from acquaintances or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you have a Linux cloud website hosting with us and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a given e-mailbox that you’ve got in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can select one single email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
